Pictures from Kew

Well I am still working on putting everything together for the craft show and music in the park tomorrow but decided to have a break and try to put in a couple of my Kew photographs. Somehow I didn't quite succeed yesterday so here goes........

Getting started again!!

I have been lurking around lots of crafty blogs for a while now and feel it is time that I stopped hiding away. I suppose part of me thinks that my day to day life, although it is enjoyable to me, couldn't possibly be of interest to others.

So here is a start and I promise to give it a go for a while this time.

Yesterday, I met up with my friend Diana and we spent a wonderful day at Kew Gardens. My excuse was that I wanted to take lots of pictures of leaves for my current Masterclass project that I am doing with the Opus School of Textiles. We went all round the Gardens on the "Kew Explorer" - a series of carriages pulled along by a land rover type vehicle - a kind of train but on the road. This was fun because you could see everywhere in just over half an hour and then decide what you want to go back to. We wanted to go to the newly constructed Treetop walk - a high metal structure ( lift not working yet!!!) which allows you to walk through the canopies of the trees. It was a bit scary because I'm not too good at heights - but I did feel a sense of achievement for having "been there and done that" as it were. We also visited the palm house and walked from the pagoda back to the lake. Spent a long time in the shop - but for a change didn't buy anything - how boring am I?

I am busy today preparing for a craft show that take splace in our local park this Saturday - so over the next few days I will begin to photograph and share some of my arty - crafty items with everyone.
